Plan details

Free

The Free plan is designed for individual developers or small projects. It includes everything you need to monitor a service and get started with deploy tracking and suspect scoring. Ideal for side projects, staging environments, or evaluating BlameTrail before upgrading.

Starter -- $24/month

The Starter plan is built for small teams running production services. It raises limits across the board and adds AI incident summaries, which provide a plain-language explanation of what went wrong when an incident opens. Fix proposals let you generate revert PRs or AI-powered code fixes directly from an incident — up to 20 per month. On-call paging over SMS, voice (with DTMF acknowledge), and browser push reaches your rotation even when Slack isn't enough — 200 pages/month are included, with US/CA/UK calling and texting bundled at no extra charge. AI-drafted postmortems (5/month) turn every resolved incident into a reviewable retrospective with timeline, customer impact, and action items. And a public status page on status.blametrail.com/<slug> lets you communicate with customers during incidents. The 30-day data retention window gives your team enough history for postmortems and trend analysis.

Pro -- $49/month

The Pro plan is for teams that need the fastest check intervals, the longest retention, and the highest analysis limits. Diff-aware summaries go beyond standard AI summaries by incorporating the actual code changes from suspect deploys into the incident explanation. Fix proposals scale to 200 per month with the largest AI context windows, giving your team the most accurate AI-powered fixes across all active incidents. On-call paging scales to 2,000 pages/month across up to 5 verified numbers per user, and the public status page gains custom brand color, headline, and support link so it matches your product. Priority support ensures your team gets help quickly when it matters.

Managing your subscription

Billing is managed from Settings > Billing. From there you can:

  • View your current plan and usage.
  • Upgrade or downgrade your plan.
  • Update your payment method.
  • View invoice history.

BlameTrail uses Stripe for payment processing. All plan changes take effect immediately. When upgrading, you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing cycle. When downgrading, the new plan takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

Exceeding plan limits

If you reach a plan limit (e.g., maximum number of services or monitors), BlameTrail prevents you from creating additional resources until you upgrade or remove existing ones. Active monitors and services continue to function normally -- you are never locked out of existing resources.

For analysis credits, once the monthly limit is reached, new manual and automatic analyses are paused until the next billing cycle. Existing analysis results remain accessible.

Paging works a little differently: pages beyond your monthly included quota are billed as metered overage rather than blocked, so your on-call never goes silent. A hard cap of 5× the monthly limit prevents a runaway loop from blowing your bill; once it's hit, further pages are recorded as skipped until the next month. See On-call paging for details on included regions (US/CA/UK) and the 30% surcharge on international destinations.
