Setting Up Jira
Connect your Jira Cloud site to BlameTrail via OAuth.
Setting Up Jira
Connect your Jira Cloud site to BlameTrail in a few clicks using OAuth.
Step 1: Open the Integrations page
Navigate to Organization Settings → Integrations in BlameTrail.
Find the Jira card and click Connect via OAuth.
Step 2: Authorize in Atlassian
You will be redirected to Atlassian's authorization page. Review the permissions BlameTrail is requesting:
- Read Jira work — View projects, issues, and issue types
- Write Jira work — Create issues on your behalf
- Read Jira user — Display assignee names
Click Accept to authorize.
Step 3: Confirm connection
After authorizing, you will be redirected back to BlameTrail. The Jira card will show Connected with your site name.
BlameTrail automatically selects the first Jira site associated with your Atlassian account. If you have multiple sites, the first one is used.
Disconnecting
To disconnect Jira, click the Connected button on the Jira integration card and confirm disconnection. This removes the stored OAuth tokens and any webhook registrations. Existing issue links are preserved but will no longer receive status updates.
Troubleshooting
"No Jira sites found"
Your Atlassian account must have access to at least one Jira Cloud site. Verify at admin.atlassian.com that you have a Jira product subscription.
"Connection session expired"
The OAuth flow must be completed within 10 minutes. Try connecting again.
"Failed to connect"
Ensure third-party app access is not blocked by your Atlassian organization admin. Check your organization's security settings at admin.atlassian.com.
